This project examines Facebook’s role in spreading false or misleading information about climate change. Through interactive media and research, the project delivers an immersive experience aimed at educating users and raising awareness about the impact of climate misinformation on the platform.
The project features an infographic animation detailing the research methodology that informed the decision to develop an educational website. The website is designed as a parody of Facebook, helping users understand how misinformation and disinformation about climate change can spread, and highlighting the consequences of this on public perception and the urgent need for action.
The exhibition includes posters and branded Factblocked merchandise to build familiarity with the parody brand and spread awareness of the project by promoting media literacy. The project encourages critical thinking and acts as a guide to combat the spread of misleading climate information on Facebook.
